Drive to Te Anau Downs in time to hop on your water taxi (11.30am or 2pm). Your vehicle is driven from Te Anau Downs to Milford Sound.
The drive to Te Anau Downs from Queenstown is 2h30 long. Please allow enough time to drive, stop along the way for photos, pick up a lockbox, and attach the locbox to your vehicle.
The drive from Te Anau to Te Anau Downs is roughly 25-30 minutes.
Return: Hop off the water taxi from Sandfly Point, and locate your vehicle in Deepwater Basin. 500m from the water taxi drop off.
