Kepler Track -- Premium Package 2 Nights 3 Days

Our Kepler Premium Package is our fully inclusive, independent package that includes a huts booking service, accommodation in DOC huts, car relocation or transport services, and provides all the hiking gear and food customers need for their adventure.

Walking the Milford, Routeburn or Kepler Tracks unguided is a popular, quintessential “kiwi” choice that allows the ultimate in flexibility and independence. Our packages allow customers to explore at their own pace, on their own schedule without the stress of handling all the logistics.

We book the Kepler in the direction most preferred by locals (and anyone living in Fiordland and Otago): Anti-clockwise. Starting with the Luxmore hut, finishing with the Iris Burn hut. We recommend to spend a night in Te Anau prior to start hiking.

When to book

Make sure you book with us before the DOC Hut Bookings open. DOC announces when it intends to open the hut bookings any moment between February and 30 April of each year. Then the DOC Hut Bookings usually open end of May/mid-June 2026 for bookings starting on the day after Labour Day (end of October - different every year) through to 30 April. Once we have your DOC huts confirmed, we book your track transport, and organise the rest of your epic trip.

The Kepler Track sells out quickly. Our team will be ready and prepared.

Please note your premium package is not confirmed until hut bookings open and we secure your huts. If we are unsuccessful (highly unlikely) at securing the huts, we will refund your deposit minus $100 admin fee.

Inclusions

•    Accommodation – 2 nights in bunk accommodation in the Department of Conservation (DOC) Great Walks huts with shared facilities (flush toilets, sinks, kitchen - no showers).

•    Hut Booking Service - Space in the DOC huts is subject to availability.

•    Hiking Gear Package (Premium) - 4 days.

•    Hiking Food Package - 3 days, 2 nights.

•    Track Transport - either car relocation (from Te Anau Lakefront or Kepler carpark to Rainbow Reach) or bus services.

•    Water Taxi from Te Anau Lakefront to Brod Bay if required.

Extras

•     Queenstown accommodation 1 night.

•     Te Anau accommodation 1 night.

•     Gear or food hotel drop-off and/or pick up.

Notes

•     The Premium Package is not confirmed until DOC hut bookings are secured (deposit required).

•     Hiking boots, clothing, rain jacket, rain pants, and personal belongings NOT included.

•     A moderate level of fitness is recommended.

•     We recommend spending a night in Te Anau before your hike.
